Steampunk Cocktail Retrospective

   Cocktail  Recipes

Shoot the tea party - lets break out the hard stuff and have a good time by Jupiter

Cocktails were born from the need to disguise low quality  wines and spirits in the far flung outposts of  expeditions, military campaign and times of  Temperance & Prohibition bootlegging.

Names of early cocktails reflect their era and exotic occidental origin or risque` underground  & blackmarket beginnings.

There is a reason a traditional cocktail tastes like old style cough medicine (apart from the original supplements being banned). Most ingredients are simple and at hand in the cupboard.

1 dash lemon or 2 dashes lime juice
1/2 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 egg white
2 dashes absinthe
1 glass scotch whisky
Shake well, strain into a long timber and fill with soda water.
